Beef tallow is a rendered form of beef fat. It is produced by melting and clarifying the fat from cattle, typically from suet, which is the hard fat found around the kidneys and loins. It has been used for various purposes, such as cooking, soap making, and skin care.
We source only the highest quality tallow from Irish organic farms. Our tallow is from 100% organic grass-fed cows, raised on the pastures of County Wicklow. The farm strives to achieve a natural, humane and stress-free environment for their herd.Calves are not taken away from mothers. They wean naturally when mother is due to calf the following year. The herd are not given any drugs, antibiotics or chemicals of any kind.

Using organic beef tallow in skincare can offer several potential benefits:

Natural Moisturization: Organic beef tallow is rich in fatty acids, which help lock in moisture, keeping the skin hydrated and preventing dryness.

Nourishment: The vitamins and antioxidants present in organic beef tallow can nourish the skin, promoting overall skin health and radiance.

Gentle and Non-Irritating: Organic beef tallow is a natural ingredient, making it less likely to cause skin irritations or allergic reactions compared to synthetic or chemical-laden skincare products.

Skin Barrier Protection: The fatty acids in organic beef tallow can reinforce the skin's natural barrier, protecting it from environmental stressors and reducing moisture loss.

Anti-inflammatory Properties: Some components in beef tallow may have anti-inflammatory effects, making it potentially beneficial for soothing irritated or sensitive skin.

Versatility: Organic beef tallow can be used in various skincare products, such as creams, balms, and lotions, offering versatility in your skincare routine.

Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly: Using organic beef tallow from responsibly raised cattle promotes sustainable practices, which can be better for the environment and animal welfare.

Some endocrine disruptors have been associated with potential long-term health risks, including reproductive problems, developmental issues, and certain cancers. By avoiding products containing these chemicals, you minimize your exposure and potential risks associated with them.

Bare: skin wellness is a family business, created with family wellness in mind. Leanne has created a range of products to meet the needs of all family members, in every stage of life. Hormone health is central to our ethos, and that means no hormone disrupting chemicals in ANY of our products. We created hormone-safe products that won't affect hormonal balance during the critical hormonal development during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We created products that wouldn't create hormonal imbalances causing skin outbreaks in your teenagers. We created products that wouldn't mimic oestrogen or lower testosterone in the athlete in your family. We created products that don't interfere with the significant hormonal changes occurring in the menopausal woman in your family. And crucially we created products that were safe and gentle enough for your little ones.

We create every product by hand in small batches using the highest quality organic natural ingredients. Small batch manufacturing means we can ensure every batch is carefully and thoughtfully crafted with attention to detail.
Our products are formulated with the highest quality natural ingredients. We  prioritise local Irish suppliers where possible, and always use organic ingredients where available. Our tallow is sourced from organic gress-fed Irish cattle ethically raised on County Wicklow pasture without the use of antibiotics, pesticides, hormones or gmo feed. It doesn't get more natural than that.
